Dr. Mario Afra
Exceptional Family Dentist with a Personal Touch
Dr. Mario Afra, a top graduate with an Honours Degree in General Dentistry born in Montreal, provides comprehensive patient-centered dental care. With a commitment to excellence, he received a National Excellency Award in Dentistry (Mex) and continues to deliver the highest service standards.
As a published author in international dental journals, Dr. Mario stays at the forefront of the field through advanced training and continuous education. His areas of special interest include restorative and cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery, and implant dentistry. He is a member of the Canadian Dental Association, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists,and the British Columbia Dental Association.
Dr. Mario’s passion for education extends beyond his practice. He takes pride in teaching international dentists, guiding them on the path to obtaining their Canadian dental license. At our clinic, Dr. Mario emphasizes conservative and preventive dentistry, focusing on comprehensive treatment for long-term oral health. Known for his compassionate approach, gentle hands, and attentive nature, he creates a comfortable and pleasant experience for every patient, while delivering personalized, high-quality care.

Dr. Sushma Bajaj
In 1989, after earning her Bachelors of Science in Winnipeg Manitoba, Dr. Bajaj realized she had an aptitude for the sciences and decided Dentistry was the perfect profession for her so she went on to earn her DMD. After graduation from dentistry school in 1993 she wanted to learn and gain as much experience as she could in her chosen field, so she bought a practice with a classmate in a small city in Manitoba. As owner she gained significant experience as a dentist and in all aspects of the business.
Dr. Bajaj then moved to BC in 1999 from Manitoba and started associating at two dental Clinics. The principal dentist of the practice she worked at, had triplets leaving her to work as a solo practitioner. In 2001 she moved to Kingston, Ontario and she worked with Altima until 2003, one of the large multi clinic groups in Ontario. She moved back to BC in 2003 and she worked and started three clinics for a dentist who had multiple clinics.
Dr. Bajaj gained a plethora of experience in a variety of associate positions in the following years. In 2007, she practiced with Smile Dental Group and found out that the principal she was working for was opening a location closer to her home. In 2011 she bought Smile Dental from the Dentist she was working for. In August of 2014 she started Halo Dental as a totally new clinic from scratch.
Outside of work, Dr. Bajaj’s family is her top priority. She spends every spare second with her children and husband that she can. And enjoys sneaking in a workout when her schedule will allow.
Dr. Maryam Nekoueiparvar
Dr. Maryam Nekoueiparvar is a general dentist, who graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Iran in 2006. She has a strong interest in all aspects of general dentistry but more importantly , she takes pride in focusing on patients’ needs above all.
She makes every effort to stay on top of current developments in dentistry. To that end, she maintains the highest levels of accreditation and takes advantage of ongoing education in both general and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Maryam scope of dental expertise encompasses such procedures as teeth whitening, tooth extractions, root canals, restorative crown and bridge treatments, and removable dentures.
Her goal is to provide the best experience and care possible to all patients while ensuring that they are comfortable in the chair and taking time to listen to patients. When not performing dentistry, she enjoys hiking, traveling, and most importantly spending time with her family – especially her young daughter.
